so london has the coolest thing ever now. its a Q&A service (much like google, except its people and not a computer-generated thing). and you can text them ANY question you have and they ANSWER it. badda bing. its so fun. it costs 1 pound.

the immense 2-7
so i am now 27. as in, that is now my age. adulthood has hit me like a bag of bricks (to botch a metaphor), too. usually on my birthday i wonder if i am supposed to feel anything…if age comes with any sensation other than “oOoo people are paying attention to me today.” but this year, i definitely feel it. it’s not…climatic in any way, but it is definitely a lot more poignant than other years. i feel like i am supposed to be responsible or something… well, really, what happened was that i had the thought that i am now probably too old to wear my sparkly headbands and glittery ballet flats.
end of the party
the last night of verifying, we had a little party with cake and biscuits and chips and salsa and just about anything else we could get our hands on at tesco. props to the verifiers, who stayed up pretty late that night finishing up.
cambridge!
my love of london is second only to my absolute adoration of cambridge. cambridge is seriously my favorite city in all of england. it’s the place i go just to be. the river, the shops, the cobblestone walks, the architecture, the cyclists, the colleges, the cafes, the punts… i can go on and on.
OH and how can i forget the street musician who was playing guitar inside the trash can. yeah. see below.
london town
we went to caffe vergnano first, a little place in leicester square that phoebe loves. delicious frappe. vanilla with lots of frothiness. mmmm. as we were leaving vergnano, we noticed that next to it are lots of used book stores. so in we went. adorability to the maximility! phoebe was looking for an old version of pride and prejudice to give to a friend, and we found the sweetest volume ever. it was volume 2 of 2, and vol 1 was missing, but she got it anyway since now its like a quest. :) tiny red-bound volume with ink illustrations; from the 19-teens i think. we popped into a few more of these shops and i came out with emma and pride and prejudice myself.
